Dutch architecture has consistently pushed boundaries and evolved over the centuries, from the Middle Ages to today. But what is the history of Dutch architecture and how did it shape the Amsterdam we know and love today?

For example, the typical Dutch street houses or “hollandsehuisjes” are the products of an architectural trend that developed in the 17th century.
