Understanding Dutch Legal Systems and their Principles

What makes the Dutch legal system so unique, and how might its principles impact other legal systems around the world?

How Dutch Law Developed?

The Dutch legal system has been in existence since the Middle Ages when it had just begun to develop. Before the Middle Ages, much of the region had been under Roman rule, so some parts of Roman law were used in the development of Dutch law. The Dutch king eventually created the legal code known today as the Dutch Civil Code, which was full of many detailed regulations that formed the basis of the modern Dutch legal system.
